Annette Stiers Jones Photography (“we,” “us,” “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you visit [www.annettesjphoto.com] (the “Site”), subscribe to our newsletter, or purchase fine-art landscape photography prints. We are based in Washington State, USA.

1. Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways:
a. Information you provide
- Name, billing address, shipping address, email address, and phone number when you place an order.
- Payment details (handled securely through WooPay and PayPal — we do not store full card numbers). For payments with PayPal or WooPay: purchase total, currency, billing information. For taxes: the value of goods in the cart, the value of shipping, and destination address. For checkout rates: destination address, purchased product IDs, dimensions, weight, and quantities. For shipping labels: customer’s name, address as well as the dimensions, weight, and quantities of purchased products.
- Email address when you subscribe to our newsletter.
- Any information you voluntarily provide in communications with us.
b. Information we collect automatically
- IP address (or an anonymized version), device type, browser type, operating system, screen resolution, referring site, pages visited, time on page, and general location.
- Collected through Google Analytics (GA4), which records sessions, page views, events (e.g., clicks or purchases) and technical details like device category and browser.
- Cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy for details). We’ll use cookies to keep track of cart contents while you’re browsing our site.
- Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed
- Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping
- Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
- This site utilizes caching. Caching potentially stores a duplicate copy of every web page that is on display on this site. All cache files are temporary, and are never accessed by any third party, except as necessary to obtain technical support from the cache plugin vendor. 2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Process payments and fulfil orders, including printing and shipping.
- For payments, we send the purchase total, currency, and customer billing information to the respective payment processor. For more details, please see the respective third party’s privacy policy (WooPay’s Privacy Policy or PayPal’s Privacy Policy).
- For automated taxes, we send the value of goods in the cart, the value of shipping, and the destination address to TaxJar. Please see TaxJar’s Privacy Policy for details about how they handle this information.
- Send order confirmations and customer support emails.
- Deliver newsletters and marketing communications (only if you opt in).
- Analyze site usage and marketing performance (Google Analytics, Facebook Ads, Google Ads).
- Comply with legal and tax requirements.
- Improve our store offerings
- Plan future services (such as photography mentoring and workshops).
- Caching to facilitate a faster response time and better user experience
3. How We Share Your Information
We share information only as needed to run our business:
- With third-party print labs and shipping carriers (for order fulfilment).
- With service providers such as Woo Payments, PayPal, email-marketing platforms, Google Analytics, Facebook Ads, and Google Ads.
- We accept payments through PayPal and Woo Payments. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to PayPal or Woo Payments, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.
- With legal authorities if required to comply with law or protect our rights.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to anyone.
4. International Data Transfers
Your information is processed and stored in the United States. If you are outside the U.S., you understand that your data will be transferred to and processed under U.S. law[JG1] .
5. Data Retention
We keep data only as long as necessary for our business and legal obligations:
- Order and payment records — 7 years (for tax and accounting purposes).
- Customer contact and marketing data — until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
- Analytics data — typically 26 months (Google Analytics default).
- Cache files expire on a schedule set by the site administrator, but may easily be purged by the admin before their natural expiration, if necessary. We may use QUIC.cloud services to process & cache your data temporarily.
You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 6).
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
- Object to or restrict our processing.
- Withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time.

7. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies for:
– Essential site functions (cart, checkout).
– Performance and analytics (Google Analytics).
– Advertising and remarketing (Google Ads, Facebook Ads).
– Social media integration (e.g., Facebook, Instagram buttons).

8. Marketing Communications
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails any time via the “unsubscribe” link or by contacting us. Transactional emails (e.g., order confirmations) will still be sent as needed.
9. Children’s Privacy
Our Site and services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If we learn we have received data from a child, we will delete it immediately.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No system is completely secure; you use the Site at your own risk.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. The “Last Updated” date will change accordingly. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the revised policy.

13. U.S. state law requirements

This Privacy Policy is designed to help you understand how we handle your information:
We explain the categories of information we collect and the sources of that information in Section 1 hereof.

We change this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will not reduce your rights under this Privacy Policy without your explicit consent.
